WWE Pulls Kalisto From SmackDown This Week, Claims He's Injured

On Tuesday evening, WWE announced that Kalisto would not be appearing at this week’s SmackDown television taping due to an injury he suffered at the hands of Rusev on Monday’s RAW.

WWE wrote the following:

“WWE medical staff confirmed that Kalisto suffered a strained intercostal muscle and erectus spinae muscle, attributed to Rusev’s Accolade submission maneuver.”

WWE did note, however, that Kalisto is “still planning” to defend his U.S. title against Rusev at this Sunday night’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
