Vince Misses Last Few Weeks Of WWE TV, How He Has Been Running Things

For the past two weeks, Vince McMahon has not been present at either RAW or SmackDown Live, something that is definitely out-of-character for the longtime WWE Chairman.

Many who are close, or who have been close to Vince from a work standpoint have noted on the record that he is viewed as a freak of nature in terms of his work ethic, including current WWE Champion Dean Ambrose who spoke about that exact subject during his excellent “Stone Cold Podcast” appearance with Steve Austin on the WWE Network this past Monday night.

Dave Meltzer noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that McMahon is currently expected back at next Sunday night’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view in Brooklyn, New York. This means he will likely miss the final week of television leading up to the second biggest annual pay-per-view event. This is something that is considered even more rare, especially considering the fact that it’s also the first time the separate RAW and SmackDown Live rosters will come together on the same event.

While it’s certainly worth noting due to the rare nature, it’s also worth pointing out that despite the fact that McMahon hasn’t been at the recent TVs live and in person at the venues, he has continued to micro-manage virtually every significant detail for both shows throughout the day leading up to the live broadcasts. He has been in constant contact with his key people, and has even participated in recent production meetings via telephone.
