Three Impact Wrestling Backstage Producers/Wrestlers Leaving Soon
Posted On August 1, 2020
It certainly looks as if Impact Wrestling is going through some changes with the roster again. We now know of three different departures from the company that have been confirmed by talent themselves. Gregory Shane Helms has announced his departure from the company by literally wishing them well in their future endeavors. Helms worked for the company in a producer role, and he also appeared onscreen as the leader of the Helms Dynasty, with Andrew Everett and Trevor Lee. The split apparently was not a very amicable one, since Helms stated on Twitter “I’ve never been an ass-kisser and I damn sure wasn’t gonna start with an owl.” He also went on to say that the roster deserves much better than what they are given.
It also appears that Al Snow will be stepping away from the promotion. Snow announced on Twitter that he left the company, stating: “I want to say thank you to everyone at Impact Wrestling for the great run I’ve had. Change must always happen & I am excited for the future.” Al Snow also worked for the promotion in a similar producer role, but he did appear and wrestle for the promotion as recently as last year. He had been with the promotion since 2008, but confirmed today that he is no longer part of Impact Wrestling. We also now know of one more backstage worker from Impact who is no longer part of the company in addition to Shane and Helms.
It appears as though Pat Kenney (formerly known as Simon Diamond) is gone from the promotion. He was hired as a wrestler in 2003 before transitioning into a backstage role later on. PWInsider claims that the three will be leaving when their deals expire at the end of the month. They also said that they had to cut three of their seven producers for financial reasons. Producers like Abyss and Sonjay Dutt also work as wrestlers on the show, whereas Snow, Helms, and Kenney had become strictly backstage producers, thus the company had less reason to keep them around. The three of them join The Hardys, Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett, Jade, Drew Galloway, and Crazzy Steve on the list of notable Impact employees who have left the company in 2017.
