Manchester United have told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that the club can spend £75million in January, according to reports.
The Red Devils outlay during the summer transfer window was just under £150million with Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James coming through the door at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, United managed to offload Romelu Lukaku for £75m to Inter Milan and The Sun claims that Solskjaer ‘will be able to use’ that money to ‘bolster a top-four challenge’.
Alexis Sanchez is another one that could leave before the European transfer window shuts on September 2, with Inter reportedly set to seal a deal, which would improve United’s wage budget.
The report adds that Solskjaer ‘still keen on recruiting a creative midfielder’ and will ‘assess the situation’ once the window reopens in the winter.
A ‘United source’ told The Sun: “The money is certainly there and Ole knows that.
“Everyone knows January is always a difficult market but if it’s the difference between keeping United in the top-four mix, the owners won’t hesitate to back the manager.”
