Seth Rollins Comments on Being Inspired by CM Punk and Colt Cabana

Seth Rollins recently Tweeted some words of respect to CM Punk and Colt Cabana. The two Chicago natives are icons in the independent pro wrestling world and have inspired a great number of talent that came after them.

I remember so much so fondly of this city…and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention @CMPunk and @ColtCabana. Two guys who changed the game for Chicago wrestling. They made Chicago feel special. Made me feel like this place could lead to the rest of the world…

Punk himself has become somewhat of a legend in his own right, even though he has spent the past four years away from the mainstream pro wrestling world. The Second City Saint left WWE because of health issues and creative differences with the company.

Many fans have anticipated Punk’s return to the ring but thus far, he has remained adamant that he is finished with the pro wrestling business.

…I’m eternally grateful for the inspiration and motivation Punk and Cabana provided me at a very formative age. Helped shape my work ethic in wrestling for years to come.

Fans will remember that Seth worked as Tyler Black in Ring of Honor, the same company that Punk and Cabana once called home. Rollins later waged war against Punk in WWE when Seth was a member of The Shield.

WWE’s Live Holiday Tour is rolling into Chicago on December 29 and features the stars of Monday Night Raw.
