The second team, after the European Champions, who booked a ticket to the Olympic Games 2012 was Australia, who in the last, decisive day won over China 3-0 thanks to efficient block and serve.
Australia coach, Jon Uriarte said: “I want to congratulate my team. This team has made an amazing effort in the last few years, but specifically in the last 50 days”.
Australia captain, Igor Yudin added: “Today, as I said yesterday, was a do-or-die game again, the final show and it was up to us to perform. We were the actors and it’s an amazing feeling to come on the last day and dominate a team like that. It’s an unbelievable experience and all of us are really happy to be part of that”.
