Real Madrid prioritise Eriksen over Pogba – report
Posted On June 8, 2019
Real Madrid are reported to have prioritised the signing of Christian Eriksen this summer over their pursuit of Paul Pogba.
Real have been courting Pogba ever since Zinedine Zidane returned to the club – and Pogba is said to be keen to swap Manchester United for the Bernabeu.
United have publicly insisted that Pogba is not for sale but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reported to be willing to cut the France star loose after growing exasperated with his performances.
The Red Devils would expect a fee in the region of £150million for Pogba, which Real are reluctant to pay.
Real have already completed the signing of Luka Jovic for around £57million plus add ons, while Eden Hazard will cost the Spanish giants at least £88million.
Given the struggles Real are having trying to raise funds through player sales, with Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez attracting little interest, The Independent claims they are looking at Eriksen as a cheaper option to Pogba.
Eriksen has spoken this week of his desire for a new challenge and that admission is said to have ‘greatly tilted’ Real’s thinking.
Florentino Perez has had trouble dealing with Daniel Levy before but the fact that Eriksen is only a year from the end of his contract at Spurs means Real are optimistic of reaching an agreement.

Pogba could be left with Juventus as his only route out of Old Trafford though doubts persist about Juve’s ability to generate the funds required.
