Omega on Why He Chose AEW, Harper on Dragon Gate, MMA Star on AAA

It wasn’t too surprising to see Kenny Omega sign with All Elite Wrestling after he left New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year. However, it is commonly known that WWE sent him a huge offer in an attempt to sign him to an exclusive deal for themselves. While speaking on TSN’s The Jay and Dan Show, Omega discussed why he decided to join his Elite partners on the bold venture instead of taking WWE’s deal. He reminded fans of his previous WWE stint training for Deep South Wrestling and how he didn’t think that it was for him. Omega also said that he was “heavily considering” making the switch last year, but due to WWE’s micro-managing and the launch of AEW, he decided that it would be better to take a risk and be part of a promotion that gives him much more control.
Although Rowan is back onscreen in the role of a follower of WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, his former tag team partner, Harper, is still on the shelf after dealing with an injury. Harper could be returning very soon, but maybe not for WWE. On Twitter, Harper took the time to praise Raw Superstar Apollo Crews for his work in the ring before suggesting that the two of them will wrestle each other once again in Dragon Gate USA. The tweet is cryptic, especially since Dragon Gate USA is no longer running shows. However, the regular Dragon Gate promotion still remains open. Harper has reportedly been cleared to return for quite some time now, but there is still no news on when he will be coming back to WWE television.
Hey, @WWEApollo is the real deal. I can’t wait to work him again in DGUSA.

Former MMA fighters Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar are currently champions in WWE, and there is speculation on Conor McGregor transitioning to wrestling now that he has retired from MMA competitor. However, another MMA fighter is set to step foot in a wrestling ring now. At the press conference for AAA’s TripleMania event earlier today, it was announced that Cain Velasquez will compete on the show. Velasquez stared down Texano Jr., Pentagon Jr., and Psycho Clown during the conference. Despite this, none of the three men have been named as his opponent for the show yet as that still remains unknown. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion will be competing for the Lucha Libre promotion on August 3rd.
