Ole makes transfer market prediction as Man Utd face ‘new world’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reckons the transfer market this summer will be “completely different” and has hinted that big moves will be on hold even for Man Utd.

The Red Devils have been linked with a host of names as they eye reinforcements with Man Utd credited with interest in the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and James Maddison to name a few.

When asked whether he could sign a striker this summer, Solskjaer told Sky Sports: “I think Mason [Greenwood], Anthony [Martial] and Marcus [Rashford] this season have been fantastic, they’ve scored up towards 50 goals the three of them.

“Marcus got his injury and he was on course to his best season and I think Anthony was on course for his best season and Mason, of course, is just a unique talent with his goalscoring ability.

“But we are always looking to improve the squad and there’s uncertainty in the market now. Who knows how football is going to be and I’m very happy with the squad I’ve got.”

On whether it’s less likely that the club will sign big-name players due to the coronavirus pandemic, Solskjaer added: “I think today’s world is different to what it was two months ago, so we’ve got to adjust and there’s clubs out there struggling more than us financially.

“But still it’s a new world, I think the transfer market this summer will be completely different to what anyone thought it was going to be.”
