New #1 Contender Announced For Ronda Rousey’s WWE RAW Women’s Title
Posted On August 6, 2021
RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey was all over this Sunday’s WWE TLC pay-per-view, successfully retaining her title against Nia Jax and later involving herself in the show’s main event, screwing over both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair during their triple threat Tables, Ladders & Chairs bout.
This Monday night the self-proclaimed “Baddest Bitch on the Planet” demanded even more competition, even going so far as to suggest that every champion should have to defend their title 24 hours after every PPV defense, regardless of their physical condition.
While Ronda didn’t exactly get her open challenge this week, Stephanie McMahon did announce an 8-woman gauntlet match that spanned nearly an hour of this week’s broadcast, with the winner receiving an opportunity at Rousey’s title on next week’s Christmas Eve special.
The match featured Bayley, Sasha Banks, Ruby Riott, Ember Moon, Dana Brooke, Mickie James, Alicia Fox and the eventual gauntlet winner, Natalya. While Neidhart did embrace her “best friend” Ronda after the RAW main event, it will be interesting to see how the two navigate their friendship next week when they face off one-on-one with the title on the line.
