Ryan Mason doesn’t think Spurs will need to qualify for the Champions League in order to keep Harry Kane this summer.
There have been mounting rumours that Kane will seek a move away from the club in the next transfer window in search of the first silverware of his career.
A report on Thursday claimed that Kane – who has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid – is now ‘hell bent’ on leaving Spurs this summer.

Tottenham recently lost in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City and ended their final hope of glory this season, while they now look outsiders to qualify for the Champions League through the league.
When asked if Spurs need Champions League football to keep Kane at Spurs, Mason told reporters on Friday: “I don’t think so.
“Harry Kane loves this football club, in the past eight or nine years as one of the best strikers in the world.
“Everyone knows that and we know that, and hopefully Harry knows that.
“Harry is a constant professional. There won’t be any conversations between me and him about anything other than training and the match ahead.”
Asked whether Kane was feeling his injury after the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, Mason added: “Harry was fine in terms of his injury. He was disappointed like all of us. Harry is a top professional, like the group are.”
Meanwhile, David Ginola doubts Spurs chairman Daniel Levy can persuade Kane to stay at the club, he told talkSPORT on Thursday: “Football is not about words.
“Words of a chairman and words from a manager will probably make you think that ‘okay, I might consider staying at the club’.
“But time goes by and you see that a football career is very short and he can’t wait anymore for words from Daniel Levy.
“You’ve not be able to build things in the past, you tried and you didn’t. Pochettino was accused of not winning anything and went to Paris Saint-Germain and then they had Jose Mourinho.
“For him I think he wants stability in the way Barcelona and [Real] Madrid are winning trophies every year. It’s a completely different world.
“Harry Kane is looking for a club who will give him these sort of opportunities especially on the biggest stages.”
