In an interesting way of helping people stuck at theairport waiting for the delayed flights, insurance company Digit Insurance has come up with an insurance scheme which compensates the passengers for whatever they buy, whether it’s a book or coffee to pass time. The insurance cover compensates them by paying a claim amount of Rs 1,000.
The company is using data mining and analytics to develop low-cost micro products. What has enabled such a cover is technology. Since the flight data is available online, the insurer can alert the buyer to claim an entitlement as soon as the flight is delayed.
