Mane left ‘very angry’ with Liverpool over blocked Madrid transfer

Liverpool star Sadio Mane was reportedly “very angry” with Liverpool last summer as they blocked his proposed transfer to Real Madrid.

The Senegalese enjoyed another superb season for Liverpool, scoring 18 league goals as they cruised to the Premier League title.

But it is claimed Mane and the club weren’t on the best terms as the season began, with the forward apparently keen on a move to Madrid, who were courting the 28-year-old.

Sport claim that Mane was “very angry” that Liverpool would not negotiate a deal for him to join the La Liga giants.

The report comes after it was revealed that Mane is being lined up by Barcelona as a potential replacement for Lionel Messi.

The Senegal international suggested last year that it was his dream to play at the Nou Camp.

“Ronaldinho was my hero when I was little, I loved watching him play, especially here at the Camp Nou,” Mane said ahead of the Champions League semi-final.

“That is why it is a dream come true to play in this stadium, although I would have liked to face or play with him.

“I still love him, he will always be my hero. What did I like the most about him? The smile he played with.

“They say that I smile a lot, but not that much. I would love to have that smile. I have seen Barca play since I was little and the Camp Nou is a wonderful stadium.”
