Man Utd legend Ferdinand busts myth about Jagielka videos

Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand claims the story that David Moyes made him watch videos of Phil Jagielka’s defending is a myth.
There have been rumours that Moyes made Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic watch tapes of Sheffield United defender Jagielka in order to improve their defending.
Man Utd have struggled to hit the heights of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign since he left in 2013 with Moyes the first manager to attempt to carry on the Scot’s legacy.
OPINION: Forget Kane; Son is Man United’s no-brainer Spurs signing…
Moyes lasted less than a year at the helm after being appointed on a six-year deal, with the club finishing seventh – their lowest-ever Premier League finish.
“I don’t know where that came from to be honest, that’s something that never happened,” Ferdinand told Savage Social.
“Listen, Phil Jagielka was a very good player. I’m sure he wouldn’t have shown us videos of Phil of how we should be doing this and that, but I don’t know where that came from. That’s just some mad tale that’s come out of nowhere.
“Someone has dreamed that up and it’s become a great meme.”
Having said that, Ferdinand did admit that he and Vidic didn’t always see eye-to-eye with Moyes, the former centre-back added: “To be fair, we did have some heated discussions if I’m being honest. There were a few heated meetings between myself, Vida and David Moyes.
“We didn’t agree with certain things and the certain ways things were being done. Set-ups from a defensive perspective etc.
“He wanted certain things, we didn’t really agree with certain things he was saying, but that’s football and I think David Moyes will probably have had that before with many different players so we weren’t the first and I’m sure we won’t be the last.”
We could not keep away from the camera for long so we made a Football365 Isolation Show. Watch it, subscribe and share until we get back in the studio/pub and produce something a little slicker…
