Liverpool should move for Sweden star Isak, says Enrique

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has urged the Reds to bid for Sweden international Alexander Isak.
The centre-forward reached 17 La Liga goals for Real Sociedad in 2020/21, despite being just 21 years old.
He’s since starred at Euro 2020 and is already attracting comparisons with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Six available European coaches yet to turn down Spurs…
Liverpool look set to target a new striker this summer and Isak could be the man to replace Roberto Firmino.
Speaking about the player, Enrique said (via CaughtOffside): “I know him very well because he play[s] for Real Sociedad.
“He is a top player, definitely I would sign him. [He] is really young so hopefully we can go for him, if we can’t go for Erling Haaland or someone like that.”
Isak began his career with AIK in his native Sweden before securing an £8million move to Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
He only ever scored one goal for the German side before being sold to Sociedad.
His development in Spain has been rapid, making him arguably their most important player.
Isak is also Sweden’s main source of quality and creativity. He was unlucky not to score on Friday as Janne Andersson’s team beat Slovakia 1-0.
The Swedes are on the verge of qualifying for the last 16 after picking up four points from their first two group games.
Isak’s performances will be integral if they are to reach the latter stages of the competition.
The forward isn’t the only player Enrique has recommended to Liverpool.
The former defender has backed them to complete a deal for Leeds United winger Raphinha.
He said: “Hopefully we can sign him, it will be a great addition for our squad.”
Enrique also suggested moves for Kylian Mbappe and Haaland, although he went on to call Raphinha a more ‘affordable’ option.
The only player Liverpool have signed so far is centre-back Ibrahima Konate. He joined from RB Leipzig in a £36million deal last month.
As usual, the rumour mill continues to link Jurgen Klopp’s side with plenty of other players.
One position they might strengthen is central midfield after Gini Wijnaldum joined Paris Saint-Germain.
Yves Bissouma is one option. He will cost between £30-40million.
