Liverpool linked with bizarre move for Prem outcast

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
Despite the fact they have Alisson and Simon Mignolet as first-team options, with Caoimhin Kelleher as back-up, the European champions have long been linked with experienced shot-stoppers.
Andy Lonergan joined Liverpool on their pre-season tour this summer but will not be offered a permanent contract, while Alex McCarthy emerged as a reported target.
But his teammate Forster is also attracting interest from Merseyside – despite playing one Premier League game since January 2018.
The Daily Mail named the 31-year-old as one of four players Liverpool ‘want’, alongside ‘Juan Firpo’ (Junior), Israel Salazar and Ryan Fraser.
Little else is said in the report except for the claim that Jurgen Klopp ‘would like to add strength in depth to the goalkeeper, left back and forward positions’.
But Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott could remain their only signings of the summer, with the focus instead on looking into whether Harry Wilson, Dejan Lovren or Ryan Kent should be offloaded.
