Legends Coming to Survivor Series? Updates on Paige & Kevin Owens
Posted On July 29, 2020
WWE is stacking the Survivor Series card with just about every single big name that they can land for the event. The card is loaded with superstars from both shows, and it is also rumored that John Cena may be serving as the special guest referee in the champion vs. champion match between Brock Lesnar and Jinder Mahal. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning on having some major legends appear at the show next month. The report claims that Vince McMahon wants to have either Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock involved in some sort of role in the Lesnar vs. Mahal match. It is also mentioned that John Cena is still in consideration to serve as the referee as well.
Paige has been inactive in professional wrestling for over a year now and the former Diva’s Champion has gone through a rocky few months. Fortunately, she was reported to be training for a WWE comeback not too long ago. Word on Paige’s return has remained relatively quiet up until now. Jose Hernandez, the manager for singer Shayla, posted a new version of the singer performing Paige’s entrance theme recently. It is unclear why this was posted so suddenly, but Paige is rumored to be returning to WWE very soon, and this could be a sign that WWE is indeed working on getting Paige back on television. It could also be a song made in promotion with WWE’s upcoming film biopic based on Paige’s family called Fighting with my Family.

It was reported recently that Smackdown’s Kevin Owens had to leave a tour with WWE in South America due to a family emergency. Owens and his wife later let fans know on social media that they are doing well now. Despite some rumors that Owens has received heat for his decision to leave the tour, Sports Illustrated has now confirmed that Owens has absolutely no backstage heat of any sort whatsoever. The situation with Owens and his family was understood by WWE, so the company allowed him to head back home. Kevin Owens is still working with WWE, as evidenced by the fact that he returned on this week’s Smackdown show.
