Worcester announced Lance’s recruitment on Tuesday night, Australian time, on Twitter.

The 27-year-old signed a deal with the Western Force for the 2018 season, and has been mooted to be heading to the Rebels in 2018 after news of the Force’s axing.

Though the Warriors didn’t specify the length of Lance’s contract, a domestic move seems unlikely to be affected by Tuesday night’s announcement.

Lance, who was at the Reds and Waratahs in their Super Rugby championship years, joins Rebels hooker James Hanson in taking up temporary deals in the Premiership.

Worcester currently sits at the bottom of the UK Premiership ladder, yet to taste victory in the 2017-18 season.

Warriors coach Gary Gold, set to take over the USA reins at the end of the current season, said Lance would be a handy boost for the side.

“Jono is a player who’s got vast experience at the top level having won Super Rugby titles with different clubs,” he said.

“He will help drive the competition for the number ten jersey and we’re looking forward to seeing what he has to offer.”
