Chelsea are widely expected to complete a £90million deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz. So what’s taking so long?

The hold up appears to be due to Leverkusen’s struggles to identify a suitable replacement.
A Chelsea move for Havertz has been mooted for months now, with the playmaker keen on working under Frank Lampard in the Premier League.
Journalist Jan-Aage Jjortoft has addressed the situation, explaining why the 22-year-old is still not officially a Blues player.
“Seems like the main – reason for the delay of a public confirmation of the deal, is that Leverkusen would have liked to be further in replacing him,” Fjortoft tweeted.
“It’s strategy. After a big Havertz fee any replacement will be more expensive.
“That’s the name of the game.”
The west London outfit have spent big this summer, already bringing in Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell.
