Liverpool have a “clear” plan as to which positions they need to strengthen in the next couple of transfers windows, according to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, while he has also revealed the club’s interest in Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
Back in April, Falk claimed that Liverpool were ‘in contact’ with Zakaria’s agent over a possible move to the Premier League club this summer.
And Falk has again pushed that interest, while he says that the Reds want a new centre-back and winger, as well as a new central midfielder like Zakaria.

Speaking to Empire of the Kop, Falk said: “The profile of the players who are wanted is clear. This was shown in the current transfer window.
“[Jurgen] Klopp needs fresh blood and competition on the wing, in the centre and in central defence. If these players don’t come this summer, they’ll try in the coming season. Speculating about specific names now would not be serious. It is far too early for that.”
When asked if Liverpool are pursuing any ‘Bundesliga bargains,’ Falk added: “I know that Liverpool have their eyes on Zakaria of Mönchengladbach.
“This is a very talented player who will hit the market next year. A move to the Premier League is easy for him to imagine.”
So far, Jurgen Klopp has only brought in Konstantinos Tsimikas from Oympiacos to provide competition for left-back Andy Robertson.
