How Granovskaia is making strides in bid to land Havertz for Chelsea
Posted On July 26, 2020
Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia is reportedly in talks with Bayer over lowering the asking price for Kai Havertz.
The German international has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in another standout Bundesliga campaign.
Chelsea are leading the race for Havertz – who is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge – but want to negotiate what they believe to be an inflated price.
Having spent big on Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech already, Bild claim Granovskaia is attempting to lower the price of any Havertz deal as she looks to bring the Bayer Leverkusen star to Chelsea.
But the German giants are reportedly unwilling to deviate too much from the £90million asking fee.
Chelsea apparently want to start the bidding at £63m, fully aware that they’ll have to stump up more in add-ons.
And while Leverkusen want closer to £90m in order to part with their star asset, they’re supposedly ready to begin negotiations at the price Granovskaia wants.
