Pedro’s early effort for the Blues on derby day against Fulham saw the club hit a notable landmark in terms of strikes recorded at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea have become just the third team to record 1000 Premier League goals on home soil, joining Manchester United and Arsenal in that elite club.
The man to carry them to that mark was Spanish forward Pedro.
The World Cup winner needed less than four minutes to break the deadlock during a derby date with Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
Having been picked out by N’Golo Kane, Pedro cleverly cut inside Alfie Mawson before sliding into the back of the net.
That effort handed Maurizio Sarri’s side a perfect start against their local rivals, while also taking them to 1000 in Premier League competition at Stamford Bridge.
The hope will be that there are many more to come this term, with a title challenge still on the cards.
An unbeaten start to the 2018-19 campaign was brought to a close against Tottenham, but Sarri’s side have offered a positive response to that reversal.
Of the 1000 Premier League goals that Chelsea have recorded in front of their own supports, 116 different players have hit the net.
Frank Lampard has been their most productive marksman on home soil, with the iconic midfielder boasting 79 efforts to his name.
Didier Drogba is next on the list with 69, while current star Eden Hazard is third on 47.
Chelsea have had plenty of firepower in their ranks down the years, so it comes as no surprise that they have beaten a number of rivals to a notable landmark.
They have, however, benefited from 34 own goals down the years, which represents a healthy haul of assistance.
While they are now at the 1000-goal mark, they are still some way back on United and Arsenal on that particular chart.
The Red Devils have registered 1079 Premier League efforts at Old Trafford, while the Gunners have split 1029 between Highbury and Emirates Stadium.
