Fabregas warns Grealish about ‘big move’ to Man City or Man Utd

Cesc Fabregas has sent out a warning to Jack Grealish ahead of his potential “big move” from Aston Villa to Manchester City or Manchester United this summer.

Grealish had injury problems in 2020/21 but he still shone for Aston Villa. He notched six goals and ten assists from just 26 outings in the Premier League.

This has fuelled talk that he could be set for a big summer move. He has been linked with Man City and Man United of late.

Grealish? Sancho? Will Southgate take lid off England team?

In his column for The Telegraph, Fabregas has suggested that Grealish will not be guaranteed starts for Man City or Man United:

“In the specific case of Grealish, this has been his first big season where everyone outside Aston Villa talks about him.

“I don’t know what his future will be. But there could potentially be a big move for him, so he needs to show he is ready for any situation.

“If he did move to a Manchester City or Manchester United, nobody will guarantee that Jack Grealish will start every single game and these kinds of clubs will be looking to see that he is ready to compete.

“It’s similar for [Jadon] Sancho, even though he was not in the squad for the first game, and these players like him and Grealish can have very important tournaments for England, even if it is off the bench to start with.”

Elsewhere, Grealish recently revealed that he would like to play under former Man United boss Jose Mourinho:

“I heard what Mourinho said, a lot of people sent me that.

“You try not to listen to too much, whether it’s good or bad. It’s always nice when people are speaking about you, especially someone like Jose Mourinho.

“He’s done so much in the game. He’s such a popular man in football and he’s not short of football knowledge.

“Luis Figo is someone who I looked up to when I was a kid. He was an unbelievable player, but the the main thing was it came from Mourinho, who is an unbelievable manager.

“He’s done unbelievable things in the game. Hopefully one day I could play under him.”
