Dutch striker regrets not signing for Liverpool after ‘concrete offer’

Dani van der Moot says the one “regret” he has is not signing for Premier League club Liverpool when he was made a “concrete” offer.

The Dutch striker had a chance to join the Reds six years ago when he was 16 but he ended up staying at PSV Eindhoven.

Van der Moot now plays for Rijnsburgse Boys in the Dutch second division after leaving PSV following spells out on loan.

And now the 22-year-old has expressed his “regret” over not joining Liverpool when he had the chance.

“If I then regret something, it is that I have let Liverpool go,” he told Elf Voetbal (via Sport Witness).

“There were more clubs from abroad with interest, but Liverpool was the most concrete. I visited with my parents for a day and was given a tour of the stadium, complex and city.

“They showed me what I could expect if I started playing football there. A beautiful day and a wonderful memory forever.”
