Donald Trump Draws Flak For Denying White Supremacy As Reason Behind New Zealand Mosque Shooting

On Friday, at least 49 people were killed in a ghastly terror attack that took place at two mosques in New Zealand. A 28-year-old Australian suspect named Brenton Tarrant was arrested in relation to this incident. Tarrant identified himself as a white supremacist and claimed that he was out to avenge the attacks in Europe which were perpetrated by Muslims.

People who were injured or killed in this attack were mainly identified as migrants. The firing marked an attack of xenophobia where questions regarding a growing trend of white supremacy started doing the rounds.

However, US President Donald Trump on Friday dismissed concerns that the massacre by an apparent white supremacist in New Zealand indicates a dangerous trend.
