DJZ Makes WWE NXT Debut; Reveals New Ring Name & The Meaning Behind It

32-year-old Michael Paris, better known by his ring name DJZ, made his long-awaited WWE debut this weekend at the NXT Live event in Largo, FL. He worked under a new alias at the show, Joaquin Wilde, scoring a victory over Kona Reeves in his first match, and also faced Garza Jr. the following night in Ft. Pierce, FL.

Wilde has been wrestling for more than 15 years, with extensive international experience in both Mexico and Japan. He also had a long, off-again, on-again run in Impact Wrestling where he won the X-Division Championship twice, and the Impact World Tag Team Championships with Andrew Everrett.

He wrote on Twitter:

I had an uncle named Joaquin. He LOVED pro wrestling, always wanted to be a wrestler but those opportunities didnt exist in the Philippines. I chose this name because by living my dream, im also living his dream. And WILD(E) is the perfect word to describe the way i wrestle!
