Curt Hawkins’ Streak Almost Ended, E & C Update, Hart on Rousey

Raw Superstar Curt Hawkins has not been having very much luck in WWE lately as he has lost over 200 matches in a row. However, Hawkins does not mind the fact that he is on a losing streak. In fact, he recently revealed on The Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, that he once had to fight with company officials to keep the streak alive. According to Curt, WWE wanted Hawkins to win a match against Heath Slater on an episode of Main Event right after the former lost his 100th match in a row. Hawkins revealed that he went to the head writers of Raw that night and convinced them that they could turn the losing streak into a storyline. Hawkins has lost over 100 more matches since then and the streak is still intact as of today. “There’s been times since that article [revealing his 100th loss] where I was supposed to… I remember one time I was supposed to beat Heath Slater on Main Event and I went, ‘Oh, no’ – I said ‘no, no, please no, this could be something.’ There’s no sense in ending it on Main Event against Slater.” Hawkins said on Roberts’ podcast.
By the end of its first season, WWE Network subscribers grew a fondness for the Edge & Christian comedy series that premiered in 2016. After several reports claiming that the possibility of another season for the show looked bleak, WWE confirmed earlier this year that the show will be returning in the near future. Edge and Christian have said that shooting for the show has wrapped up, but no news on a premiere date has been reported. However, Wrestling Inc. now says that the second season of the Edge & Christian Show will be premiering on the WWE Network in November. No exact date was mentioned, but it seems likely that the first episode of the new season may be premiering around Survivor Series weekend.
Numerous fans and individuals within the pro wrestling industry were heartbroken and devastated when Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart passed away earlier this year. Neidhart’s daughter, WWE Superstar Natalya, has once again resumed her wrestling career and has been aligned with Ronda Rousey on Raw over the past few months. During their tag team match on Raw earlier this week against Alexa Bliss and Mickie James, Rousey and Natalya used the Hart Attack finishing maneuver that Neidhart used to use with Bret Hart during their Hart Foundation days. Bret Hart saw the move executed on Raw this past Monday night and took the time to praise Rousey and thank her for paying tribute to Jim Neidhart and himself.
