Charlotte Returning Next Week, New Battle Royal Members Announced

Charlotte Flair has received an injury that unfortunately kept her from competing in her Mixed Match Challenge match with Bobby Roode against the team of Finn Balor and Sasha Banks. It was originally reported that the injury was not that serious and that she wouldn’t miss much ring time, and that appears to have been proven true. PWInsider revealed not long after the news of Flair’s broke that the Smackdown Women’s Champion had oral surgery to treat an infection last week. Flair was pulled from the Smackdown show last night by WWE just to be on the safe side. Luckily, WWE confirmed that Flair will be back in action once again starting real soon.

Bobby Roode’s partner in the Mixed Match Challenge last night was revealed to be Smackdown’s own Becky Lynch. Lynch picked up the victory by pinning Sasha Banks, but WWE confirmed that Flair will be back to team alongside Roode on next week’s edition of the Mixed Match Challenge. Just in case there was any doubt, not only will Flair still be defending her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Asuka at WrestleMania, but she will interact with her on next week’s Mixed Match Challenge show when she and Bobby Roode face “The Empress of Tomorrow” and The Miz in the finals of the tournament. PWInsider also stated that Flair was backstage for last night’s Smackdown show, but she was not used on camera.

Thank you ???? be back next week! https://t.co/MyfpsCP6XJ

A few new members of the men’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal were revealed during last night’s edition of Smackdown. Tyler Breeze, Fandango, and Dolph Ziggler have each officially joined the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. After Smackdown went off the air last night, WWE conducted an interview with Lana wherein the “Ravishing Russian” announced that she will join the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal. Both matches take place at WrestleMania, and the Andre the Giant match features Breeze, Fandango, Ziggler, Dash Wilder, Scott Dawson, Tye Dillinger, Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, and Matt Hardy competing for the trophy so far. The women’s match features Lana, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, Naomi, and Natalya as of now as well.
