Carra pinpoints one transfer Liverpool need after Everton draw

Jamie Carragher thinks Liverpool need to provide back-up for their front three after they were held to a 0-0 draw against Everton on Sunday.
Despite having 70 per cent possession at Goodison Park the champions-elect managed just three shots on target, exactly the same number as Everton had playing a much less offensive game.
Liverpool are a point closer to their first Premier League title in 30 years but it was a frustrating afternoon for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Mo Salah started on the bench and was an unused substitute for the Reds and Carragher reckons Liverpool are still lacking a striker who can slot in seamlessly when on of their front three is injured.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said: “The front-three are as good as anyone in Europe, we know that. But whenever one of them hasn’t been playing, there is a massive drop-off. I went back to a game earlier in the season when Liverpool dropped points against Manchester United, and that was another game where Salah wasn’t playing.
“They don’t miss too many games, but when they do there’s a big drop-off. That’s why I still feel they need to strengthen their front three. Divock Origi is a legend for Liverpool because of the big goals he’s scored, but that isn’t quite the quality Liverpool need.
“The front three are very robust and don’t miss too many games but if they were to lose one of those for a length of time it could cause a real problem next season.”
