BOULDER, CO — Friends and family of 57-year-old Jeffrey Lynch are in mourning after he was found dead Tuesday at a Fourmile Canyon home where he was working. Christopher Wolf, 25, is facing murder charges in Lynch’s death.
Many people posted messages on social media remembering Lynch as a kind-hearted man who lifted people’s spirits. Many called his death “senseless.”
“Jeff, a happy-go-lucky, fun-loving, patient, generous, sincere, kindhearted, sports-loving, accomplished contractor, foodie, friend to all, and peacemaker, has tragically passed away before his time,” his family said in a statement. “Jeff will be desperately missed by all who loved and knew him, but he will always stay close to our hearts. We pray for God’s peace and grace upon him.”
One of Lynch’s neighbors, Naomi Rachel, published a report in the Daily Camera that described him as “the sweetest man I’ve ever known.” She said he dealt with multiple tragedies, including his wife dying of cancer and his house burning down, but continued to be remarkably kind to others. He leaves behind two sons, one of whom is severely autistic. Lynch was his caregiver.
Community members have been asking how they can help Lynch’s son, and the family said donations can be made to the Autism Society of Boulder County.

Lynch’s son called the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday to report that his dad was missing. His dad planned to visit his girlfriend on Sunday but never arrived.
Lynch was hired to work at a home in Camino Bosque, the sheriff’s office said. The owners of the home weren’t living there, and when they found out Lynch had gone missing, they went to check on their property.
The property owner and her daughter found their garage windows covered in paper and a man who didn’t have permission to be there. The homeowners could smell a strong stench of bleach, and the man told them he was there to clean, according to a report by Fox 31.
Deputies arrived and found a body wrapped in plastic in the trunk of a car, according to the report.
