Backstage Update on Heyman’s Future If Brock Lesnar Leaves WWE
Posted On July 25, 2020
According to Dave Meltzer in a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if Brock Lesnar does leave WWE for UFC, Paul Heyman’s situation with the company becomes uncertain as he would have no purpose to be on TV. It has been teased and previously reported that WWE could put him with another wrestler, but it’s not a given that Heyman wants to work and be on TV every week which is why the situation with Lesnar was a perfect fit for him.
It was previously reported that there has been talk of pairing Ronda Rousey up with Heyman, but it was noted before that it remains to be seen if creatively WWE wants him mixing it up with Stephanie McMahon as that is a situation they have kept him away from in the past.
With the Ronda Rousey/Stephanie McMahon program supposedly a modern day version of Stone Cold vs. Mr. McMahon, the face is likely going to be getting the better of the heel for much of its duration. Heyman’s role in giving the most exciting and impactful promos in WWE history would not only take the spotlight away from Rousey, but it would make him look smarter than The McMahons, which is unlikely to happen.
