As noted, Brock Lesnar announced on SportsCenter that his MMA career is over, and that he has signed a new contract with WWE. With Lesnar staying with WWE, future plans in the company are going to change quite a bit.
It’s widely believed that Lesnar will be turning babyface now that he is with WWE for a long term period, likely as soon as this Sunday’s WrestleMania 31 pay-per-view. If Lesnar does turn, it’s expected that he’ll take the spot designated for Roman Reigns as the top face in the company, which has also led to speculation that Reigns will likely turn heel.
If Lesnar does turn face, a wide variety of high-profile programs become available, including the rumored match with The Rock at next year’s WrestleMania, if WWE is able to get a deal done.
Prior to Lesnar’s announcement, WWE had a few different ideas for the finish of Sunday’s WrestleMania 31 main event. Now that he is officially part of the team for the long haul, WWE is able to finalize their plans for Sunday, as well as their long-term plans moving forward.
