Augustana closes out the regular season at No. 2 St. Cloud State

Augustana (18-5) finishes up the Regular season before heading to the NCAA Regionals. The Vikings take on No. 2 St. Cloud State (15-1). The dual is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.

Series History
This will be the 36th meeting between Augustana and St. Cloud State. The Vikings hold a 20-15 record against the Huskies. St. Cloud State won last year’s dual 19-12 to win the NSIC Championship. The Huskies currently hold a four-match winning streak against the Vikings. Augustana is the last team to defeat St. Cloud State in a conference dual winning 18-13 in 2011


Augustana goes 2-1 at the Maryville Duals
Augustana traveled to St. Louis to take part in the Maryville Duals on Sunday hosted by Maryville University. The Vikings opened the day with a 28-14 win over Ouachita Baptist. David Potratz (133 Pounds) got Augustana on the board early with a first period pin over Byron Burrell. Colin Ayers (149 Pounds) got the Vikings second pin of the dual in the third period over Connor Loderhose to make it 12-6 Augustana. This was Ayers’ third pin of the season. Ben Goodwin (165 pounds) and Tim Weber (174 Pounds) each scored victories over Colin Chambers and Izaak Simar to give the Vikings a 19-10 lead in the dual. Clayton Wahlstrom (197 Pounds) scored a 9-4 decision over Austin Hailey to extend the Augustana lead. Michael Lowman (285 Pounds) gave Augustana the win with a first period pin over Aaron Clayton. This was Lowman’s fifth pin of the season.

Augustana fell to Maryville 26-13. David Potratz (133 Pounds) earned his second victory of the day with a 5-2 decision over Kodi Byrd. The win gives Potratz a 13-9 record on the year. Tim Weber (174 pounds) earned his second majority decision of the day with a 9-0 win over Christian Loges. This was Weber’s sixth majority decision on the year.

The Vikings then closed out the duals with a 21-15 victory over McKendree. Shawn Hatlestad (157 Pounds) would gain the lead back for the Vikings with a 11-7 decision over Isaiah Kemper. Aero Amo (184 Pounds) pinned Cody Willis in the first period to earn his 14th fall of the season. Clayton Wahlstrom (197 Pounds) gave Augustana the lead again with a 6-3 decision over Luke Diener. Michael Lowman (285 Pounds) secured the victory for the Vikings with a 3-1 decision over Coltyn Pease

  • Brandon Charbonneau came in at No. 6 at 141 pounds,
  • Colin Ayers takes the No. 6 spot at 149 pounds
  • Shawn Hatlestad came in at No. 6 at 157 pounds
