Arsenal are reportedly furious with Atletico Madrid over their treatment of Lucas Torreira, claiming the La Liga side are ‘directly devaluing the player on purpose’.
The report from Libertad Digital (via Sport Witness) also claims Diego Simeone’s side are trying to get revenge for Arsenal’s last ditch signing of Thomas Partey.

The Ghanaian joined the Gunners at the end of the summer transfer window after they activated his €50million release clause, leaving Atletico little time to find a replacement.
But they did make a late move for Torreira on loan, who was expected to slot straight into Simeone’s side.
The Uruguayan has in fact had just over 300 minutes of action this season, despite Atletico being ‘delighted’ with him.
Arsenal believe Atletico are ‘directly devaluing the player on purpose’ because they refused to insert a purchase option in the loan deal.
That, along with the assertion that Atletico are punishing Arsenal for the way in which they signed Partey, has led to ‘tremendous’ anger on Arsenal’s part with Emirates bosses considering ‘taking measures’ against the Spanish club.
Atletico deny the accusations, instead insisting Torreira’s lack of game time is simply down to the team’s good form without him. Makes sense.
