Scuderia Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene won’t let his team get carried away after Sebastian Vettel’s dominant win in last Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix.
Launching his race from pole, Vettel trounced his rivals to secure his 50th career win in F1 and reclaim the lead from Lewis Hamilton in the title fight.
It was an impressive display of authority from Ferrari, and one that left both Mercedes and Red Bull stumped.
Vettel unhappy with ‘short-sighted’ F1 fans
“The team was totally dominant together with Sebastian because we were working since Friday step by step, little by little, keeping our focus on what to do,” the Italian manager told Sky Sports F1.
“Of course Sebastian is a great driver, he gave credit not only to himself and his talent but also to all the work to the team.”
Despite the clear cut win, Arrivabene lost no time reminding the Italian squad that hard work lies ahead.
“It’s a big fight this year,” he added.
“We are more or less all together so I can see Red Bull very strong, Mercedes very strong.
“I mean it’s going to be an interesting championship we have to keep our feet on the ground, head down, and to work, and we’ll see.”
