2011 Guy's Prom Checklist

3 Months Before Prom

	Start using Prom Planning checklist.
	Ask how much money your parents are willing to contribute.
	Start saving money!! & Plan your Budget
	Find & Ask your date to go to Prom!

10 Weeks Before Prom

	Go for your tux fitting. If you know what color dress your date will wear, Coordinate colors!
	Start coordinating transportation. Will you drive, If so whose car? Will you rent a limo with your Friends? If so get Prices and form a Group of friends that are able to pay!
	Some Proms Don't have a Meal, so ask around for a good place for dinner before the Prom. Consider your Prom date's tastes in food & atmosphere (ask her, lol).

2 Months Before Prom

	Purchase Prom tickets & Get Adult to sign Permission Slip.
	Discuss your prom plans & After Prom with your parents. Hire Limo if Necessary.

2 Weeks Before Prom

	Call & confirm all reservations & Limo Rentals you have made for Prom day.
	Finalize Schedule with friends, date & parents.  Where will you all meet?
	Order your date's corsage from Florist (keep in mind dress color!)

Several Days Before Prom

	Get your haircut.
	What time will you pick your date up?  (or limo if applicable)
	Wash your car & vacuum it, if driving.
	Supply Kit: Camera, cell phone, cash for tips, student ID, Prom tickets, Limo Number etc.

Prom Day!!

	Pick up corsage at Florist (Keep refrigerated). Don't forget you Camera & Prom Tickets!
	Pick up your tux, if you haven't already. Make sure to have tie and cummerbund or vest (and that they match your date's dress), dress shoes/socks, cuff links & studs. HAVE FUN & Remember don't Drink & Drive or Get in a Vehicle with anyone under the Influence!! Good luck & have a Blast  Cher!

	Pick out accessories that will coordinate with your dress and your date's Tuxedo.
	Start taking care of your hair & nails, especially if you have short & bitten nails. If you are growing your hair, trim it every 3 weeks to avoid split ends.

2 Months Before Prom

	Purchase Prom tickets & Get Adult to sign Permission Slip.
	Start trying different hair styles, even if you are DIY.
	Discuss your prom plans & After Prom with your parents. Hire Limo if Necessary

3 Weeks Before Prom

	Pick up your Prom dress.
	Break in Prom shoes by wearing them several times a day.
	Make your hair, makeup & nails appointments. Avoid the last minute rush by locating other salons not near your town.  Order boutonniere from Florist.

2 Weeks Before Prom

	Call & confirm all appointments & Limo Rentals you have made for Prom day.
	Setup an Emergency Kit: camera, clear nail polish, extra pantyhose, cellphone, cash for tips, student ID, tickets, limo number.
	Introduce your parents to your Prom date.

Day of your Prom!! 

	Pick up boutonniere from Florist.  Don't forget you Camera & Prom Tickets!
	Go to your hair, nails & makeup appointments. HAVE FUN & Remember don't Drink & Drive or Get in a Vehicle with anyone under the Influence!! Good luck & have a Blast  Cher!

Show Your Parents a Limo is the Responsible Ride to Prom!

Some of us thought (myself included) when we were teenagers that it was a fun idea to really have a celebration and have a few drinks before, during or after our Prom.  It looks so glamorous on the commercials, in TV shows and movies.  Of course as I got older I realized that teen drinking often leads to long-term problems like alcoholism.

The other factor I didn’t consider is that it The Limo or Party Bus chauffeur is the "responsible adult" in the eyes of the law.  And the chauffeur is responsible enforcing the law for the minors on board.  Our chauffeurs have a special Commercial Driver's Licenses that can be revoked for allowing minors to drink.  So their entire livelihood is dependent upon sniffing out any minors trying to sneak vodka in a hairspray bottles, or water bottles, or flasks (yes - we've seen it all).

Limo companies just cannot allow alcohol on-board when everybody in the group is under 21.   Period.  If a company does allow underage drinking, they will soon be out of business.  It is not worth risking the chauffeur's entire livelihood to allow a teen to get drunk - or even sneak a few drinks.  And trust me - it is not that difficult to smell alcohol on people.  There is a rumor - which is false - that vodka does not smell when you drink it.  They are right - vodka doesn't smell – as long as it stays INSIDE the bottle with the lid screwed on.  Once you drink some vodka you can easily smell it on your breath.

Young people's bodies do not know how to process alcohol the same as more experienced drinkers.  That is why you hear so often of kids in college dying from binge drinking at sorority or fraternity parties - their bodies just can't process the alcohol as fast as it is being consumed and they lapse into a coma and die.  Most experienced drinkers pass out before they get to the state of coma or death - so they stop consuming alcohol.

So the minute our chauffeurs suspect alcohol has been consumed - the ride has to be over - parents or police are called and we leave everybody where we are at once we discover the alcohol.  Dinner location, Prom location, etc.  We cannot be responsible for a teen going into an alcohol induced coma or seizure while we transport everybody back home. 

 We don't want to ruin anybody's night.  Our business is to help make people's special events memorable and fun!  So please young riders in our Prom limo AZ this season - follow these rules!

Teen passengers, & parents commit to the following:

• No alcohol or other intoxicants or cigarettes are allowed in the vehicles.
• All packages may be inspected by the chauffeur and may go into the trunk of the vehicle.
• The privacy partition remains open at all times to allow supervision by the chauffeur.
• The chauffeur will notify the parent listed if alcohol or drugs are detected.  If the parent(s) are not available, the authorities will be notified.
• The chauffeur will immediately terminate the ride - passengers need to be collected by parents, and all monies will be forfeited.
• Only passengers listed on the Teen I Promise contract are allowed transportation in the vehicle.
• Any unusual spills, soiling or damage to the car caused by the passengers will be charged to the person(s) booking the vehicle.

Great Limo Tips for Teens!

From prom dresses to the last sparkling hair accessory, everyone wants to arrive at the Prom in style. You’ve spent lots of time choosing from prom dresses, & looking through prom tips for ideas on your hair, make-up and your body. Your date has the perfect tux, looks great and has a great boutonniere, and can’t wait to spend Prom with you. But how will you get there?

The best choice is for neither of you to drive to Prom. Whether this means hiring someone to chauffeur the two of you to dinner, the dance, and any after-Prom events, or relying on a family member, it’s really the safest choice. While you may have no intention of partying so much that you can’t drive, you can never know for sure what will happen once things really get going. While I’m going to be politically correct and assume no underage reader will drink, that’s only one reason to have a driver.

The following prom tips of having a hired driver or trusted family member available to get you where you need to go will demonstrate that you are wise beyond your years and that you are conscious of the possibilities that may threaten your safety. Remember, you won’t be the only ones on the road that night. And driving may not be your main concern.

Pay Your Way

Hiring a car – whether it’s a limo, classic car or other type of transportation is a good way to go. The average rental price for a stretch limo is about $400 for the night, not including the driver’s tip, parking fees or tolls. If you’re planning on splitting the cost of the limo between some other couples, this is actually a very safe and somewhat economical way to go to Prom. The driver takes care of everything; filling up the gas tank, parking the car, and knowing which routes to take to get you safely to your destination(s). (Imagine having to stop for gas on the way to the Prom and arriving with your gown smelling of gasoline!!!)

The Kindness of Others

Of course, you can also rely on the kindness and goodwill of others to get you and your date to the Prom. An older brother or sister, or even cousin may be willing to drive you around. You may even consider offering them gas money, at the very least. Since gas is so expensive these days, offering to pay for gasoline will probably make them more amenable. You can even ask your parents or your date’s parents to do the honors. If you don’t want to be too much of a burden, you may be able to convince all the parents to share the duties; maybe your parents can drive you and your date to dinner and the dance, and his parents can pick you up and deliver you to the party afterward and then home again.

No matter how you end up getting to the Prom, remember that doing safely should be a top priority, and if that means getting someone else to do the driving for you, go for it. You’ll have more time to concentrate on your very handsome date! Prom dresses and tuxedos are fun, but if you don’t know how you’re getting there in the first place- what use are the fancy duds?
