Do not overlook this consideration especially when booking entertainment & other vendors for your Prom. Did you know that most venues & locations require proof of valid liability insurance BEFORE allowing entry to their facility. When you sign a contract with a facility, chances are that you are signing responsibility on your part to ensure that your outside vendors & entertainers are insured.
Should something unexpected happen, and your vendors & entertainers do not carry liability insurance, then you as well as your entertainer will probably be sued. If the are not fully insured they may be denied access to the facility the day of your event or Prom! This would be a huge issue if you are stuck the night of your event with no Vendor or Disc Jockey.
This Article also applies to Dances on School Premises - WHY? you ask..... because schools more then other places require all outside vendors and contractors to be fully insured. This is often overlooked with regular school dances and DJs. This Leaves your School open for ALL the Liability! Be Very careful it also may leave the committee, advisers & planners open for liability.
